Most people arrive at this question phrased as a choice: is Flower Hill in Roslyn or is it in Port Washington. The honest answer is that the question contains a false premise. Flower Hill is not in one district, and it is not in two. It sits inside the boundaries of three, and the third one, Manhasset, is the one most often left out of the conversation entirely.

Flower Hill’s incorporation was defensive in origin. The push began in 1930 when word spread that Port Washington intended to incorporate itself as a city, and residents of the Flower Hill area feared being absorbed into a proposed City of Greater Port Washington. Manhasset Union Free School District

The Manhasset Union Free School District administers from 200 Memorial Place in Manhasset and is the district most often omitted when people describe the Flower Hill split, which is why any article or listing remark that says “two districts” should be treated with caution. Is Flower Hill Split Between Two Districts or Three?

Three. This is worth stating flatly because the two district version circulates widely, usually because the Manhasset portion is smaller or less discussed than the Roslyn and Port Washington portions. Two independent public sources support the three district structure. The Village of Flower Hill’s own site tells new residents that the village is served by three different school, fire, and water districts, three ZIP codes, three post offices, and three libraries, and that depending on where you live in the village you might receive services from Manhasset, Port Washington, or Roslyn districts. Reference sources describing the village state the same thing: it lies within the boundaries of the Manhasset, Port Washington, and Roslyn Union Free School Districts.

What is not published anywhere in authoritative, address level form is the line itself. Neither the village nor the three districts publishes a public street by street table of which Flower Hill addresses fall where. Start from 1,529 housing units. In a normal year a village of that size turns over a small fraction of its stock, which means the annual transaction count for the whole village is modest before anything is segmented. Then segment it three ways by district assignment, as any honest pricing analysis has to, and the per district sample gets smaller again. Which Roads and Train Stations Serve Flower Hill?

Flower Hill sits on the Cow Neck Peninsula between Manhasset Bay and Hempstead Harbor. Port Washington Boulevard, designated New York State Route 101, forms a portion of the village’s border with Munsey Park and a portion of its border with Port Washington. Northern Boulevard, New York State Route 25A, forms portions of the village’s southern border with Roslyn and Roslyn Estates. Middle Neck Road is now a village road rather than a county road: Nassau County repaired and repaved it and then sold it to Flower Hill for one dollar, and ownership transferred formally in early 2022.

No Long Island Rail Road station sits inside the village. Four stations serve it from outside the line, and which one is closest depends on where in the village the property is. Three are on the Port Washington Branch, which is the only LIRR branch that does not stop at Jamaica, so those three offer a one seat ride to Penn Station. The fourth, Roslyn, is on the Oyster Bay Branch and is physically located in Roslyn Heights.
